Project/Product Description

Temporary Structure
The PlusFloor mobile showroom was launched in May 2023 debuting at Clerkenwell Design Week in London. It was created to allow PlusFloor to showcase their range of luxury flooring options without requiring the potential customer or client to visit our fixed showrooms; we can go to the client providing more convenience and lessen the environmental impact of a number of people travelling to us.

It also allows us to reach a wider audience at events providing our usual excellent customer service and leading products in a stunning event space requiring minimal support from event hosts. As well as a showroom that contains our range of luxury flooring products, it can be used for CPD sessions with onboard screens and transitional furniture. It also has an on-board bar including coffee machine and beer pump to allow us to serve refreshments tailored to our guests delivering our PlusFloor experience anywhere.

Materials Used

The mobile showroom is manufactured from reused shipping container metal, re-purposed for another life.
Recyclable woods and metals are used internally to furnish the interior. Our products on display are our luxury flooring options, which are LVT and carpet tiles. Our LVT ranges include our stunning Versailles single-format glue-down panel with our signature TrueGrain finish - which displays our visually better likeness of real wood - only achievable when you have a nearly 50-year history in real wood flooring as our family owners have. We also display our latest carpet tiles and planks, which include our new BaseZero backing, made from 100% recycled materials.

Sustainability

Our container is towable by a car or van as opposed to a truck. This means we can transport it using electric or 'ULEZ' compliant vehicles to its required destination. It has electric hook-up capabilities (like a caravan plug' which allows us to power the showroom in a greener way and we look for events where this is possible.
Its transportability means we can take it to customers and regions allowing customers to visit us on foot lessening the need for vehicle use. It also allows us to send fewer travelling colleagues to customers in multiple vehicles, reducing our impact on the environment that way too.
The mobile showroom interior utilises low-energy refrigeration and LED lighting, recycled or reused materials such as wood and metal flooring and cladding, reused container materials for the outer shell, and a living moss wall on an interior feature wall.
